at the Block House One Stop
Friday 18th of April, thirty six of us met for breakfast at the Block House One Stop. Departing as arranged at 9am, we rode via Vereeniging, Heilbron and Petrus Steyn to the Yeomanry Arms in Lindley. Then rode on to Bethlehem and our base at the Fouriesburg Country Inn. After we'd checked in and dropped our kit off, a few of us went for a ride to Clarens, then like good cowboys, rode into the sunset, back to Fouriesburg.

Saturday after breakfast we rode to Clarens, through the scenic, twisty roads of Golden Gate Highlands National Park, back onto the Harrismith road (R712) past Sterkfontien Dam, to the Bingelela Restaurant in Bergville for lunch. After watching the Sharks get beaten by the Brumbies, we rode solemn-faced up the bumpy Oliviershoek Pass, taking the longer, dryer way back to Clarens, where we stopped for a quick dop and again rode back into the sunset to base in Fouriesburg.
We decided to incoperate a Poker Run on the Saturday ride. Ian Lacey had the best hand, taking the R680 kitty with his hand of trip 10's.
After a scrumptious sheep-spit-braai for dinner, everyone seemed tired after the great day's ride and drifted off to their nice warm beds.
Sunday morning we said our farewells outside the Inn and headed for home... Overall, everyone had a great weekend.
